Meet The Staff

Shawn Morrison

Founder & Executive Director

Rev. Shawn Morrison has served as a minister and nonprofit leader for more than 25 years, including in his current role as the Founder/Executive Director of Good in the ‘Hood and as the Senior Pastor of Cedarcrest Free Methodist Church in Bloomington, MN. Shawn serves on a number of boards and committees including the Free Methodist Urban Fellowship serving as the Communications Director, and as a member of the board for the Stewardship and Finance committee for the North Central Conference of the Free Methodist Church of America. From 1999-2007, Shawn served in various capacities for Bethany College of Missions over the years and help the titles of Director of Evangelism, Director of Student Life, and Director of Operations. In addition, Shawn served from 2010-2012 as the Director of Minneapolis Programs for Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities. Shawn’s most important service is to his lovely wife, Jamie and their five children, Christopher, Ryan, Kelly, Kierra and Kyle.
  

Jamie Morrison

Director of Operations/Human Resources

Rev. Jamie Morrison has served as a minister and organizational leader for more than 20 years, including in her current role as the Owner/Executive Publisher of Books By The Bundle, Associate Pastor of Cedarcrest Free Methodist Church in Bloomington, MN and former Board Secretary and current volunteer of Good In The Hood. Jamie serves on the Nominating Committee Board for the North Central Conference of the Free Methodist Church of America. From 1999-2005, Jamie served in various capacities for Bethany Global University over the years as Adjunct Faculty, Mentoring Dept. Head and Director of Evangelism. 2008-2010, Jamie led three B2B sales teams for Comcast and she currently leads Books By The Bundle, a self-publishing organization. Jamie loves being married to Shawn, who together they have 5 children, 3 in-law children and 12 grandchildren. They are all the apple of her eye!


Brandon Kohler

Food Program Manager

As Good in the ‘Hood’s Food Program Manager, Brandon’s primary focus is coordinating the various food programs across our multiple sites. Other responsibilities include coordinating community BBQ events, driving the Shoe Away Hunger box truck for deliveries and pickups. Prior to becoming a staff member with Good in the ‘Hood, Brandon was the Minneapolis Programs Assistant for Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities. His role as Program Assistant included assisting with kids, holiday programs, and hunger relief. Youth programs included a Sunday School program at Little Earth United Tribes called 4Him, and assisting with a drama and art ministry called Love in Action. Brandon and his wife Anna have been married for eight years. They have three beautiful daughters, Lydia, Ruth, and Miriam. When Brandon isn’t working with Good in the ‘Hood, he can be found spending time with his family, spray painting, or in the great outdoors.


Seth Jankovsky

Operations and Outreach Manager

Seth Jankovsky is our Operations and Outreach Manager, and is responsible for overseeing a variety of programs and partnerships. From responding to incoming inquiries from volunteers and guests, to facilitating Shoe Bus events, to being our all-around fix it guy, he has his hands in just about everything! Seth holds a Double Major in Cross-cultural Studies and Theology from Bethany Global University. His experience is diverse, from his experience as the Training Coordinator at Africa Center for Missions in Nairobi, Kenya, to Software Release and Quality Assurance Coordinator for The Home Depot Corporate IT department. He has a high value for mentorship after years of service of summer camp counseling, Sunday school teaching, youth group mentoring, pastoring, and multiple overseas missions ministries. Seth has a passion to serve people regardless of culture, age, and life situation. He reaches out to people through practical acts of kindness, with a multi-generational approach passionately seeking to mentor at risk, hurting, or recovering people. The pride and joy in his life is his family including his wife Hannah and his 7 children; Keziah, Jared, Levi, Taliyah, Rivkah, Shiloh, and Chayah.






 

Anna Kohler

Volunteer/Event Coordinator

Anna Kohler serves as the Volunteer/Event Coordinator for Good in the ‘Hood. She is the first contact for prospective volunteers and helps organize and plan special events for the organization. Anna and her husband, Brandon have been missionaries with Good in the ‘Hood in South Minneapolis since 2010. They have four daughters and enjoy spending time outside with the kids in their neighborhood and with their family.


Ron Cruz

Program Manager Assistant

Ron Cruz is a valued member of our team as the Program Manager Assistant. His infectious smile has been the hallmark of his service at Good in the ‘Hood for the last 3+ years. Ron has given of his time and talents to serve those around him and we are glad he hangs his hat with us. Ron is quick to encourage, pray, or roll up his sleeves and get the work done. Ron is a member of CedarCrest Free Methodist Church, and a key volunteer at the bi-monthly food distributions that happen at his church home. Ron has overcome addiction and bondage to illegal substances and now has a heart to help others find the freedom he has found from drugs and alcohol. Staying connected to Good in the ‘Hood has helped in his journey of faith and sobriety finding meaning in making a difference in the lives of others


Anne Olson

Shoe Away Hunger Program Ambassador

Anne Olson is our Shoe Away Hunger Program Ambassador. From driving our Shoe Bus, to scheduling shoe drives, to working with volunteers and everything in between -- Anne is the hands and feet of our Shoe Away Hunger Program. Anne has an extensive background in volunteering and leading volunteers, totaling more than 30 years. She has worked with several organizations including Awana and her local church. Most recently she has held the position of Host Team Lead at Eaglebrook Church in Woodbury, MN. Anne currently lives in Richfield and enjoys crocheting, outdoor activities, and spending time with her grandkids.

Tim O’Connell

Shoe Away Hunger Program Ambassador

Tim is one of our Program Ambassadors helping to support the operations and mission of Good in the 'Hood. He loves to help out and is always quick to bring laughter and joy to all around him. Enjoying retirement from his professional career, he has embraced volunteering with Good in the 'Hood as a means to give back to his community. Tim can be found on the Shoe Bus assisting with sales, working at our Bloomington Food Distribution events, sorting shoes in our warehouse in Brooklyn Park, or helping with donation pick ups around the cities. He loves animals has owned many types, from cats to horses. He enjoys sports and sporting events especially the ones where he can watch his grandchildren play. Tim lives and attends church in Woodbury, and is the proud father of three children and the grandfather of 5 grandsons.
