Support Josh Wanggaard

Our Twin Cities Director brings a deep passion for people, connection, and reconciliation. More than 30 years ago, he had a life-changing encounter with God that continues to shape how he lives and serves today. He has been married to his wife, Amy, for 20 years, and together they are raising three daughters to be global citizens and peacemakers.

At the center of his life and work is a desire to help people cross social divides. In a world that often feels increasingly disconnected, he has spent many years creating spaces where meaningful relationships can form across barriers such as income, appearance, and faith. He believes that healing and hope often begin when people choose to move toward one another.

As Twin Cities Director at Good in the ’Hood, he is focused on strengthening outreach while creating real opportunities for connection. His hope is that we do more than simply meet practical needs, that we become a community where every person is seen, known, and valued. Since joining the team in December, one thing has stood out to him above all else: relationships are at the foundation of everything Good in the ’Hood does.

He shares that hearing this consistently from so many people has been one of the most inspiring parts of joining the organization. In his words, the world is built on healthy relationships and that is what makes this mission so powerful.

Outside of work, he enjoys exploring great food and new flavors, earning him the nickname “Uncle Sauce” for his love of sauces of all kinds. Whether it’s a simple cheeseburger or something from another culture, he appreciates food made with care and passion. He also enjoys studying classical Arabic, riding bikes with his family, and taking walks with friends. Like his work, the things he loves most are rooted in connection, curiosity, and community.

Josh Wanggaard serves as our Twin Cities Director, helping lead outreach efforts, build meaningful relationships, and create spaces where people feel seen, known, and valued. His work is rooted in connection, compassion, and a deep commitment to bringing people together across divides.
