FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

HOLIDAY HELP CAMPAIGN

1. How can I register my children as participants for the Adopt-A-Family program?

This program is only for those who are participants in our regular programs and our partners.  Registrations will be announced to guests during the times of their participation in our services.  Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to handle walk-up registrations or those who are not affiliated with our regular programs.

2. I would like to sponsor someone for the Adopt-A-Family holiday. What is the best way to start this process?

First, we would like to thank you for your interest in our program. We endeavor to provide both our sponsors and the recipient families in need with a meaningful holiday gift card and a personal “Shopping With Dignity” experience.  Simply go to our fillable online application link OR you are welcome to email Jamie at jamie@goodinthehood.org and she will gladly send you the sponsor application form and program guidelines.

3. Where and when can I deliver the gift cards?

Our goal is to receive the gift cards as early as possible as this enables us to best prepare and to provide a better experience both for the families we serve and our generous sponsors.

To support our efforts in the best manner possible, we are asking our kind partners to purchase 2 gifts for children ages 0-12 and 2 gifts or gift cards for teens ages 13-18. You are welcome to purchase the gift cards through our preferred partner, RaiseRight. All gift cards purchased through our partner will be securely shipped directly to our office. For instructions how to purchase gift cards using RaiseRight please see How to Purchase Gift Cards Using RaiseRight.

Gift cards can also be purchased through other venues and can be mailed, shipped via USPS, Amazon, UPS, FedEx, or you are welcome to stop by and deliver them to our office. Please make an appointment with Jamie at jamie@goodinthehood.org for all gift/gift card in-person drop-offs to make certain someone is available to meet you.  Note, for weekend and evening deliveries we have a secure drop box outside the main door of our office at the following address:

Good in the ‘Hood (Located at WayCross Evangelical Church)
7733 West River Road
Minneapolis, MN 55444

4. Can I sponsor an entire family?

Our intention is to bring support to the entire family. We welcome your generous help in whatever capacity you are able. For dignity’s sake, privacy, and public health and safety concerns; we typically do not align a specific family with a personal donor; however, we do have a program, Adopt-A-Family EXTREME that helps families who are experiencing a major crisis. Please email Shawn at info@goodinthehood.org or call 612-217-4003 if you have specific questions or would like to further discuss the EXTREME Program. Thanks so much for your kind support!☺

5. Can I give a financial donation rather than a gift card?

Yes, we welcome financial sponsorships. The suggested sponsorship per child is $50. With this in mind, you are welcome to make a secure online donation to support this program by clicking here: DONATE or you may mail a check to:
